eResNetwork has opened its first investment round to develop Beta

  • Communication and social media platforms are usually the first to leverage new and emerging technologies; and the same is now happening with e-residency. The first private sector startup that is fully embracing the e-residency program is eResNetwork – the world’s safest business network where every user is a real governmentally-verified person with a legitimate name and legal identity.

“We believe that in the future, every person on the Internet will be identified with their digital ID-card and will be using web services with his or her real name”, says Erik Ehasoo, co-founder of eResNetwork. The e-residency program is the initiative that will pave the way for this new, and inevitable, global trend. Growing in parallel, eResNetwork is aiming to tackle the biggest problems of the web - security and identification. Today, both problems cost Google, Facebook, LinkedIn, Airbnb and other web platforms billions of dollars annually.

eResNetwork has announced opening its first, seed investment round to raise capital for developing the Beta, or the “real” platform and start growing globally. The first rough-looking alpha version (that essentially is a forum) was pushed online with a couple of weeks work to start learning and collecting data on the customer needs and to prove the business model for eResNetwork. The results thus far have been greatly satisfying – the platform has grown organically with mostly word-to-mouth by the users themselves. Every 1/3 user has created content on the platform witch itself has been a remarkable number.

However, the alpha version is still the alpha version built to test a business case rather than reaching a wider audience. “We consider 150 active users the maximum we want to reach with our alpha version – this is statistically enough to make conclusions. Our alpha version is not appropriate to expand to wider audiences”, says Kaspar Triebstok, technical co-founder of eResNetwork.

The team already has some ideas on how the Beta will look like: “It will feel much more like a digital cigar club for meeting trustworthy global business leaders. The design has to communicate clearly that this is a safe and convenient meeting place for global business”, says Erik.

Starting with a niche group of digital residents – global visionaries, business leaders and digital nomads – eResNetwork will work to expand into the wider business community and mainstream markets. By offering different cloud services such as a secure, universal log-in and spam-free messaging and emails, eResNetwork is aiming to change the way businesses work on the web.

eResNetwork is a spin-off from Rubik’s Solutions - the Innovation Agency creating significant value from emerging mobile technologies. eResNetwork has opened its Seed investment round and will also be participating at the Latitude59 Conference this spring.

  • Hoooah! this is great news Erik! Congratulations! Please put me on your funding prospect list if you wish to! Cheers
    Lyn

  • Erik, you may also recall that I posted this under the Capital .... category within Managing your international business ...

""" Lynwood Sewell Bell posted 9 days ago
Following meetings with Crowd Valley co founder and CEO, Markus Lampinen,
our .ai Anguilla Incubator is choosing their api for the platform with which we are initiating this exciting global funding vehicle.

    Collaborators welcome!
    Lyn """

Although it will be several months before our crowdsourcing/funding//financing platform
will go into use ... bear in mind that our platform will require the type of user identification and due diligence that the Beta eResNetwork intends to provide. Let's continue to see how we can collaborate toward that common goal! Best, Lyn

  • Great, thanks Lyn! Absolutely, working for this common goal we need to find the best solutions to bring us all forward to a safer and better future!

PS. I shared with you the investor package on Gust.

    Thanks Lyn!

  • UPDATE.
Today is the closing date of our investment round. It has been a fascinating three months full of meetings with lot of interesting people, investors and organisations. We have got a lot of feedback from the market and investors - one of our main goal for opening the investment round. We got decant proposals and ideas for further cooperation.
However today we have reached our decision that we will Not raise investments yet. And there are several reasons for that - the main being that it is just too early for eResNetwork to raise funds.

eResNetwork is not in Need of money, we can perfectly handle the monthly overheads.
The extra funds will be needed to build the Beta version, the better, visually more appealing and user friendlier business networking platform. But we believe that we are not in a hurry with that (obviously a very controversial idea in the startup world). There are 11 000 e-Residents today, this is our whole, maximum market size. In any business logic, that is far from being enough for our kind of platform. However, we are here for the long run, we Do believe that e-Residency kind of program (even if it ends up not being Estonian) is the future. In the future, every user on Internet will be digitally identified. But this future might take time. We are ready for this.

Today we need to focus on growing our community, learning as much as possible and keeping our vision clear. Raising investments today would be too expensive for the platform (giving away too much shares for too little money) and might attract wrong kind of attention. For us, our community is always coming first. When we will raise investments, the investors have to be in it with their heart and vision, they have to understand the future and the community we're all striving towards.

Today eResNetwork is funded by our company Rubik's Solutions and we are more than happy to continue to do it. We see eResNetwork as our potential life project and we are dedicated to serving this amazing community of the history's first digital citizens.

The boarderless future with safe and transparent Internet might be far away. But it starts from here, from this community...

  • Good decision eResNetwork team! You have built a great base of dedicated followers and I am confident that you can count on all of us to continue to follow and support you. Best wishes and thank you for keeping me and Anguilla in the loop. Cheers, Lyn

  • Erik,

    Totally understand your team's decision.

If eResNetwork is going to raise money, I will put money in. However, that's not invest, that's more like a support for a thing that I believe.

Your decision of increasing the community is right to the point. The question is, how.

eResNetwork can be a leader, bring possibilities for e-residents collaborating with each other. More interaction, more active, more attention...

    Best wishes

  • Great thanks for your support @Lynwood-Sewell-Bell and @Jie-Hao! We truly appreciate it and happy to work together to build this community!
